Learn how to make your orchids thrive!
Nowadays, you’ll find the phalaenopsis (or moth orchid) in supermarkets, box stores, hotel lobbies, even the waiting room for the dentist. Their abundance has made them a popular choice for Valentines’- and Mother’s-Day gifts, though first-time recipients are often unfamiliar with the special needs of these plants. Fortunately, the phalaenopsis’ forgiving nature offers novice growers an opportunity to practice orchid-care basics without the risk of killing an expensive plant with complicated culture requirements. In this session, we’ll cover watering, feeding and repotting, along with suggestions for accommodating humidity and light requirements. Recommendations for other information sources will also be shared, and each attendee will receive a double-sided bookmark with orchid-care DOs and DON’Ts.
